I forgot that you had an email list and that I was on it! I can’t wait to hear what you have to say. I love you Jessica Goudeau, keep using that voice!
Jessica, this is the spirit that we need to amplify in our country. Thank you for helping spark it. In 2019, President Pinera declared "Estamos en guerra" (We are at war). The Chilenos immediately came together for a call, NO estamos en guerra. Estamos unidos (We are not at war, we are united). Chile is the country, that, of course, successfully carried out the "NO" campaign in 1988 (https://www.npr.org/2013/02/15/172040656/the-story-of-no-is-the-story-of-modern-chile) that removed Pinochet from power. The newly released book, We Are Free to Change the World: Hannah Arendt's Lessons in Love and Disobedience by Lyndsey Stonebridge is another call for us not to be swept away by narrative of our own destruction so that we can move forward with confidence: "We Are Free to Change the World is an urgent call for us to think, as Hannah Arendt did—unflinchingly, lovingly, and defiantly—through our own unpredictable times."
I love this overview of the Chileno response to removing Pinochet; we lived in Santiago for six months years ago and love Chile so much! Also, great book recommendation! I'll check it out! Hope you're well!
Jessica, I can't wait to read more. Our world needs hope!
I'm so glad you're back! Your words are truly the encouragement I needed today and I can't wait to read your next book!
I love this. Looking forward to reading more from you!
Hey :)
I LOVED _After the Last Border_, and can’t wait to read your new one! Please keep writing!
Yay! Can't wait for the book and so glad you're writing about hope. God knows we need it!

Aw, yay! I know, I figured most people would be like, 'wait, what?' I love you! Hope you're doing well!
